Martin discovered a latent artistic talent almost by accident in 2001. Smitten by the unfolding world of art, Martin began a voracious pursuit of artistic excellence, painting, reading and discussing, learning where and whenever possible.

The natural environment and particularly the sea and shoreline are endless sources of inspiration. Martin has developed a particular style for and affinity with the subject in an attempt to capture the restless energy and movement of the sea, and the ruggedness of the shoreline.

While seascapes figure large in his work, Martin has also delved into portraiture and still life.

With his work gaining increasing recognition, Martin participates in many shows and exhibitions in Perth and the South West and is represented by galleries in Melbourne, Perth and the South West.
