Xantha WITHEROW

The intrinsic and identifiable characteristic of Xantha Witherow’s art practice stems from her use of colour whereby she creates an abstract mosaic surface to define her ideas.  More often than not the subject matter is not a place or an object but an emotional response to people known or observed and a ‘sense of place’ once visited.

Xantha attended the University of Western Sydney and has been painting in acrylic for twelve years.  She says she is inspired by her children and their activities and the tranquil setting where she lives and breeds specialist hens when she is not focused on her art.  Her work is represented in private and corporate collections in Australia and UK.
